How on Earth can we, who have been betrayed by people such as you, trust you or anything you might have to say when you are in cahoots with those who have been lying to us for years and years and years, never ever telling us the truth about the hypocrisies that many of us have now come face to face with? Why shouldn't any of us be suspicious even of the man or men behind e-watchman and would you be offended if those of us who are would say, hey, from this point on, we are going to be less gullible than might have been the case when we first got involved with Jehovah's Witnesses? We worship God, Jehovah, not you, not elders, and definitely not the Watchtower Society, your Golden Calf!? What do you say to that, Mr. Watchman? And what about Revelation's warning to get out and not share in her sins?

The questioner seems to be very confused. E-watchman is not “in cahoots” with the Watchtower. On the contrary, I have tried to use the Bible in such a way so as to denounce the Watchtower in the strongest terms possible, as warranted. It is understandable, though, why many former Jehovah’s Witnesses might be disturbed by what is written on e-watchman.com. The reason being, many former witnesses have adopted immoral and worldly lifestyles and have merely used the Watchtower’s hypocrisy as an excuse for abandoning their own faith. It obviously has never occurred to them that Jehovah is going to hold an accounting specifically with Jehovah’s Witnesses.

As for the command to “Get out of her my people,” that applies to getting out of Babylon the Great. No one can competently make the case that Babylon the Great is the Watchtower. Anyone who imagines that they are obeying that command by leaving Jehovah’s Witnesses is simply deluding themselves.

A lot has been made about the seemingly different attitude that God takes with people in the "Old" Testament Vs. the "New" testament. The God of the Hebrew Scriptures does kill more, and is more angry and vengeful than his Greek scripture counterpart; who promotes more of a loving and forgiving attitude. To me, and a lot of others, there is really no question that there is a difference, but no one seems to know/care why. What is your take on the reasons for the difference in "God's Attitude"?

Jehovah does not change. He is the same person he has always been. However, his purpose goes through different stages. When God presided over the physical nation of Israel he often fought for them and also executed judgments against his own people when they lapsed into apostasy. However, the Bible says that those things are really examples for Christians in view of God’s future judgments. For example, the Scriptures indicate that Noah’s Deluge and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah are both patterns of things to come. Indeed, the never-to-be repeated great tribulation and the world-ending war of Armageddon are still ahead of us. That being the case, it should be obvious that God has not changed at all.

Do you think that the Watchtower should take a closer look at Matthew 11:11-15? These verses are often quoted to show that no one who lived prior to John the Baptist will go to heaven as part of the priesthood composed of 144,000 Spiritual Israelites. Is God's promise in Exodus 19 verses 5-6 void and nil as far as faithful ones in the Hebrew Scriptures are concerned? Many of them are favorably mentioned in Hebrews chapter 11 and 12. Doesn't Hebrews chapter 12 speak of them also as sons and Jesus being the "Chief Agent and Perfecter of [their] faith” as well, in keeping with anointed ones with the heavenly hope?

In the 3rd chapter of John, Jesus explained to Nicodemus that no one can enter into the kingdom of God unless they are born again from the water and the spirit. In other words, in order to qualify a person would have to be baptized into Christ and anointed by holy spirit. That was not possible before died and returned to heaven and poured out the anointing spirit on Pentecost 33 C.E.

Matthew 11:11-15 confirms for us that no one who lived before John the Baptist entered the kingdom—not even John the baptizer—since he was killed before the holy spirit was poured out.

Exodus 19:5-6 originally applied to the nation of Israel because they were a holy nation and the Levites served as priests of Jehovah. However, according to 1st Peter 2:9, the Christian congregation has replaced Israel as a “royal priesthood” and “holy nation.” The pre-Christian men of faith will receive an earthly reward and will not be part of the kingdom of the heavens.

For years and years, assembly after assembly, after assembly, we've heard experiences of how Jehovah has sent his angels to help his modern day organization out of incredible situations. Accounts of incredible experiences brothers and sisters have had fortify the fact Jehovah's spirit IS with his modern day organization since these experiences could never have happened without HIS angels being sent by HIM to help US when we needed it. This being true, shouldn’t this be a warning that we should never speak against the organization at all—ever?!

Yes, I agree. There is much evidence on hand that indicates that Jehovah has blessed and supported our work in the past. However, it is also becoming abundantly clear that in recent years the Watchtower has stumbled into apostasy and has become unjust and hypocritical in many ways.

The purpose of e-watchman, though, is not merely to criticize the Watchtower, as so many others do, but to shed light on the prophecies that have a bearing on our present situation and Jehovah’s forthcoming judgments. That is what a watchman is supposed to do.

Consider, for example, the prophesy of Hosea discussed in the most recent essay: The entire prophecy of Hosea seems to denounce the Watchtower Society in very specific ways. However, while Jehovah’s prophet exposes the sins of the leaders of God’s people, Jehovah cautions his people not to take matters into their own hands. Hence, we read at Hosea 4:4: “However, let no man contend, neither let a man reprove, as your people are like those who are contending against a priest.”

So, while God’s ancient prophets took the lead in issuing Jehovah’s denunciations against the nation, Jehovah did not approve of individuals challenging the authority of his priests or personally rebuking them. Each reader can decide for themselves how that might apply today.
